Jay left this world on November 11, 2024 at the age of 74, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, J. L. Blackard and Hilda Blackard (Graham); and his brother Don Blackard. He is survived by: his wife Julie Blackard; his daughters, Mistie Smith (Brad), Kathy Horne (Robby) and Amy Dawn Blackard (Kerby); and his grandchildren, Keith, Ashley, Kyler, Kelsie, Stetson, Alexis and Sarah. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the House of Angels Funeral Home (1928 34th St, Lubbock, TX 79411).
