He was predeceased by: his parents, Donaciano Salaz and Maria Salaz; his wife Elvira Salaz; his grandson Aaron Prieto; his siblings, Esperanza Lara, Maria Picon, Prudencia Rivas, Juan Manuel Salas and Elias Salas; and his great grandchild Aiden Villanueva.
He is survived by: his children, Irma Garcia (Johnny), Mary Salaz, Alfred Salaz and Linda Salazar; and his siblings, Raymond Salas (Arcelia), Connie Gomez (Emilio) and Francis Martinez (Angel). He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, his 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 7:00 AM at the Guajardo Funeral Chapels (407 N University Ave, Lubbock, TX 79415). Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (102 N Avenue P, Lubbock, TX 79401).
