He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan Zarazua and Rosa Zarazua; and his wife Leonela. He is survived by: his daughters, Helen (Javier Zaragoza) and Sally (Gilbert Arredondo); his sons-in-law, Richardo Canales and Frank Olivares; his brother Tomas Zarazua; and his nephew Robert Garcia. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Guajardo Funeral Chapels (407 N University Ave, Lubbock, TX 79415). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church (2316 Broadway St, Lubbock, TX 79401).
