Though Derek may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Derek touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He is survived by: his parents, Bud Rodgers and Teresa Lynette Powell; his sisters, Amy DeAnda (David) and Kenann Rodgers; his nieces and nephews, Dayton DeAnda (Hayley), Dillon DeAnda and Brooklyn DeAnda; his aunt Jan Rodgers (Donna Jarrett); and also, Brystol DeAnda and Kim.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM at the Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial (6025 82nd St, Lubbock, TX 79424). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
