As Betty departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Betty may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Betty leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Steve Burkett and Gracie Burkett (Lawson); and her daughter Dolorce Ann Chumley. She is survived by: her son Bradley Coward (Liz); and her caregivers, Kristi Harris and Haliey Jones. She is also survived by four grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the House of Angels Funeral Home (1928 34th St, Lubbock, TX 79411). A graveside service was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Resthaven Memorial Park (5740 19th St, Lubbock, TX 79407).
