He is survived by: his wife Crystal Ray Hooks of Lovelady; his children, Katrina Hooks of Fort Worth, Shannon Champion (Kristi) of Bay City and Paul "Buckshot" Hooks (Sissy) of Newton; his stepchildren, Katie Harkrider, Colby Tate and Adysson Tate; his grandchildren, Kailey May (Johnny), Kandi Keel (Bryant), Taylor Hooks, Chase Champion (Jillian) and Chet Champion; and his great grandchildren, River May, Reyna May, Brylee Keel, Axton Keel, Tyson Hooks and Allison Hooks.
