It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laverne Ruth Powers (Lott, Texas), born in Utica, Kansas, who passed away on August 14, 2019, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Alfred Holmes and Dessie Mae Petrie; her husband Robert Powers; her son David Hood; and her sisters, Myrtle Holmes, Juanita Bedlien, Betty Cook, Pearl Owens and Wilma Farley.

She is survived by: her children, Terrie Rashall (Dennis) of Silsbee, Juanita Hogg (Michael) of Lott, Patricia Chism (Doug) of Temple, June Williams (Dennis) of Austin and Austen Powers of Lott; her grandchildren, LeyAnna Odom, Ashley Hogg, Trevelyn Hood, Dinecia Huber, Danielle Dodd, Cheyenne Dodd, Troy Hogg, Taylor Powers and Brandon Powers; and her great grandchildren, Raelin King, Ebin King, Brogan King, David Blalock, Cloey Blalock, Addison Hogg and Axel Hogg.
