As we bid adieu to Maria Elena's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Maria Elena has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elvia Guevara and Catarino Mares; and her brother Santos Mares.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Thomae-Garza Funeral Home (395 S Sam Houston Blvd, San Benito, TX 78586). A rosary was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church (606 W Ocean Blvd, Los Fresnos, TX 78566). A burial was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Los Cuates Cemetery.
