He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Ortiz and Francisca Espinoza; and his brother Jesus Ortiz. He is survived by: his wife Joaquina Herrera of Ortiz; his daughters, Josefina Cammack (Quentin) and Elisa Julietta Ortiz; his siblings, Jose Ortiz, Rosa Garza, Maria, Carmen Ortiz, Ernesto and Francisco Ortiz; and his granddaughters, Juliette Shemida and Josephine Quinn Cammack.
