He was predeceased by: his son Rafael Gerardo Ruiz; his father Rosario Ruiz; and his mother-in-law Leonor S. Lozano. He is survived by: his wife Dora Lozano Ruiz; his children, Eliseo Ruiz III (Chris) and Diana Delinda Ruiz; his siblings, Frank Ruiz (Isaura), Eloisa Likens and Mary Herebia; and his nieces and nephews, Brian Likens, Steven Likens, Norma Ruiz Garcia (Lamar) and Frankie Ruiz (Mimi).
In lieu of floral arrangements and customary remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, which has a special place in their hearts because of the care and love that their son Rafael received from them during his life.
