He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Laney and Fossie Mae Laney; his wife Deanna Laney; his son Randy Laney; and his brother Doyle Laney.

He is survived by: his daughter Angela Kay Laney; his sister Linda Laney of Whitehouse; his children-in-law, Barry Hamill of Longview and Julia Laney of Longview; his grandchildren, Leslie Laney, Tori Hamill, Damon Laney (Kathrine) and Alex Hamill (Jenna); and his great grandchildren, Zane, Sophie, Nathalie, Elizabeth Laney and Frankie Hamill.
