She was predeceased by: her daughter Cher Nichols; her stepson Brandon Valdez; and her parents, Fred Dodson and Dorothy Dodson. She is survived by: her husband Joe Valdez Sr.; her stepson Joe "Joey" Valdez Jr.; and her siblings, Betty Weaver, David Dodson, Johnny Dodson and Paula Lacaze. She is also survived by her family, friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church of the Nazarene (401 W Upshur Ave, Gladewater, TX 75647). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens (5000 W Harrison Rd, Longview, TX 75604).
