He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Payne and Mildred Lawson Payne; his wife Gay Neita Dodd Payne; his siblings, James Payne, Howard Payne, Phillip Payne, Shirley Glen Payne and Ramona Smith; his nephews, Jimmy Wayne Payne, Frankie Payne, Lewis Dan Smith, David Payne, Wayne Gideon, Randy Payne and Mike Payne; and his niece Jackie Van Buskirk.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lyneita Leopold (Trent) of Desoto and Amy Houser (Kevin) of Lone Oak; his sisters, Leona Holleman (Don) of Quinlan and Francis Van Buskirk of Payson, AZ; and his grandchildren, Ryan Marney (Sheena) of Bossier City, LA, Nick Marney (Courtney) of Lone Oak and Chelsea Adams (Blake) of Tira. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
