He was predeceased by: his parents, Goodall Russell and Nellie Mae Kothmann; his sister Russa Nell Loeffler of Junction; his parents-in-law, Fritz and Valera Volkmann of Menard; and his daughter-in-law Karen Lange Kothmann of Mason.
He is survived by: his former spouse LaVerne Volkmann of Menard; his children, Keesie (Ginger Kothmann), Kody (Janet Kothmann), Kayla (Zack Davis) and Kaddo (Penni Kothmann); his wife La Verne Kothmann; and his grandchildren, Zackary Davis, Dietrich Davis, Tillman Davis, Robert Davis, Kash Kothmann, Sterling Kothmann, Harrison Kothmann, Tanner Kothmann, Derrick Kothmann, Wilkes Kothmann of Kip Kothmann, K. T, Kaden Kothmann, Susannah Davis, Sarah Kothmann Clark and Krysta Kothmann. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren.
