She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Cox and Denvis Cox of Plainview Texas. She is survived by: her former husband John L Hooten; her grandson John L's; her spouse C. J. "Bunk" Solomon; her children, Carolyn, Wanda, James, Berry (Charlotte Hooten), Lonny (Karen Hooten), Kenny (Lori Hooten), Gaylyn Brown of Amarillo and Angie (Shawn Kunselman); and her siblings, Barbara (Rex Solomon), Cecile (Gary Leatherman) and Lynn (Sharron Cox). She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Lockney Wednesday (402 S Main St, Lockney, TX 79241). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the West College and 3rd Church of Christ (312 W College St, Lockney, TX 79241).
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, any memorial donations in Dorothy's memory be given to Westridge Manor in Plainview Texas.
