He was predeceased by: his parents, Ishmal Abbott and Vearl Abbott (Tomblin); his wife Bessie Bridges; and his siblings, Rusty Abbott, Earl Abbott, Coy Bershers and Ruby Green.
He is survived by: his children, Clinton Abbott of Temple, TX and Rita Marie Abbott-Billings of Willow Springs, NC; and his sister Norma Calloway. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.
