With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Miguel Alonzo Jr. (Lockhart, Texas), born in Caldwell, Texas, who passed away on January 23, 2021 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Pioqunita Miguel and Miguel Alonzo Sr. Miguel; his sisters, Rita Valdez and Epifana Cortinas; his nephews, Gil and Jesse Valdez; and his former wife Maria Estrada.

He is survived by: his wife Petra J. Alonzo; his children, Petra Voigt (Rory), Miguel III (Lydia), Rose Mary Romo (Jesse), Alex and Joe (Kristy); his grandchildren, Andrea Perales, Elizabeth Spencer (Broderick), Victoria Lewis (Arhman), Pedro Roberto Tapia, Amanda, Avery and Oliva Alonzo; his great grandchildren, Alexia Brite, Nicolas Mancis, Nathan Roland, Arhman Lewis Jr. and Daisee Spencer; his children, Arnold Alonzo, Juanita Perales (Antonio), Ernestine Tapia-Capello (James) of Lockhart and Valentine of Santa Fe; his niece Rita Jackson; and his nephews, Jerry Alonzo, Benito and Felix Cortinas.

“L.C. and Arlene Smith first moved to Niederwald as a young couple with a 2 year old son (Cody). We struggled a bit getting settled in. Mr. Alonzo (Miguel) was one of the first to stop by and welcome us. He would always stop by, usually on Saturday morning, to check on us and see if we needed anything. He was a great man, neighbor and friend to us. Mike tells me he would still ask about us after all these years. It is with the upmost respect that we offer our heartfelt condolences to the family.”
