He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Sandra; his brother James Cook (Lucy) of Granbury; his children, Danny, Jr. of Fairbanks, Alaska, Laura Brotzman of Rockport, Karen Williams of Fort Worth and Michelle Horton of Austin; his grandchildren, Meghan Beisel, Merissa Horton, Kayson Youngblood and Jacob Flores; his parents, Mattie Elizabeth Cook and Meek; his former wife Ilene; and also, Tara Snead of Taylor, Troy Snead of Alvin and Trayce Youngblood of Austin. He was also cherished by 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one 4-month-old great-great-grandchild.
