He is survived by: his wife Senaida Powers of Livingston, Texas; his daughter Patricia Powers; his son-in-law Alvin Lewis of Livingston, Texas; his son Richard Powers Jr. of Onalaska, Texas; his grandsons, Michael (Pam Johnson) of San Angelo, Texas and Jacob Johnson (Kayla Hardin) of Ingleside, Texas; and his great grandchildren, Crystal Johnson, Jacob Johnson Jr., Dylan Johnson and Alexzander Johnson.
