He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Pleasant Byers and Willie Lucille Slayton Byers; and his brother Robert "Bob" Byers of Livingston, Texas.. He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his daughter Tammy; his son-in-law Jeff Garton of McKinney; his grandchildren, Taylor and Addison; his son Mike Byers II; his daughter-in-law Susan Byers of Kingwood; his grandchildren, Jake and Brooke; and his sister Martha Kennelly of Porter, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
