He was predeceased by: his mother Lorraine; and his siblings, Robert, Clayton, Timothy, Cynthia Lavoie and Sandra Drummond.

He is survived by: his father Leonard; his significant other Kathleen Crowhurst of Livingston, Texas; his daughter Naomi Nicole Ritchie of Frisco; his grandson James Martin Jr.; his children, Donnie Lee Montgomery Jr., Amanda Marie Gressett and Ashely Dawn Montgomery; and his brothers, David Montgomery and William Montgomery (Janeen). He is also survived by numerous other grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
