He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Asbury Hughes and Ava Rilda Hughes (Walters); his wife Jacquelyn Hughes; and his siblings, James Hughes, Hershel Hughes, Lloyd Hughes, Melba Marks and Pat Hasselbach.
He is survived by: his children, Anna Johnson of Livingston, Texas and Mark Hughes (Catherine) of Livingston, Texas; his grandchildren, Shane Witherspoon, Candice Whittington, Kris, Casey Hughes and Michael; his great grandchildren, Shae Witherspoon, Shane Thomas Witherspoon, Trint Lopez, Reese Witherspoon, Hailey Lopez, Layni Lopez, Kiley Hughes and David Hughes; and his brother H. A. Hughes. He is also survived by numerous other relatives, and friends.
