He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Ray (S. R.) and Della A. Pate; his former wife Frances A. Pate; and his siblings, Mary Annice "Bo" Stewart, Dr. Samuel "Ray" Pate Jr., Pallbearers, Scott Firzgerald, Nash Stewart, Lee Hon, Corky Hillhouse, Mike Cain and Jerry Bowen.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Pate (Hillhouse); his stepson Scott Fitzgerald (Maine); and his sister Melanie Pate Holcomb of Acworth, Georgia. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
