She was predeceased by: her parents, Mildred McKivett and John E. McKivett; her husband Frank Glenn Platzer; her son Michael Patrick; her stepdaughters, Melodie and Cindy; and her siblings, Charles Carroll McKivett and Betty Jean McKivett Hightower.
She is survived by: her former husband Sam Newman Sullivan; her caregivers, Lucy, Maggie, Brianna and Vanessa; her children, Sheryl Barrett (Steve), Susanne Casteel (Randy) and Sam N. "Buddy" Sullivan, Jr. (Beverly); her stepdaughter Linda Platzer; and her grandchildren, Courtney Gill, Stephanie Gardner, Cody Casteel, Brian Sullivan, Brendan Barrett, Chris Platzer, Jennifer Brown and Jason Leftwich. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
