He was predeceased by: his parents, Seferino Hernandez and Modesta Hernandez (Vasquez). He is survived by: his siblings, Toribio Hernandez of Shallowater, Vincent Hernandez of Durant, OK, Minnie Hernandez of Littlefield, Janie Avila of Littlefield, Maria Carrillo of Littlefield, Josie Castillo of Lubbock and Paula Esparza (Ernest) of Lubbock. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
