He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Jackson Higginbotham and Sally Velma Denny-Higginbotham; and his siblings, Joseph Lee Higginbotham, Roy Calvin Higginbotham, Bessie Elaine Higginbotham, Gordon Higginbotham, Jr. and Raymond Higginbotham.

He is survived by: his niece Sally Thomas of Texas; and his sister-in-law Billie Higginbotham of Oklahoma.
