Ezekiel Isaiah Chauffe Obituary
Ezekiel Isaiah Chauffe, known affectionately as EZ, Zeke, & Father Chauffe, faithfully departed due to a tragic drowning accident on September 20, 2024, at the age of 20, in Little Elm, Texas.
Ezekiel was born on March 29, 2004, in Slidell, Louisiana to Ashley Chauffe. This is where the story of God's Grace and bountiful love of Ezekiel's family starts. Ezekiel instantly became the foundation of his family and all love that flowed through it. He was raised by his mother, grandmother Honey, and uncle Ethan whom he considered his father. EZ also considered these 3 his stalker, his paparazzi and his groupie.
Ezekiel started school at Our Lady of Lourdes where his eagerness to learn and fondness of God was fed by hours of homework and projects he would forget to mention until bedtime. He went on to attend Clearwood junior high, and later graduated from Northshore High School. While attending middle and secondary school, he formed a brotherhood with a group of young men whom he loves, respects, and calls his children. This group of gentlemen leaned on one another for support and wisdom and played a huge role in the man Ezekiel became. They are also the main reason his mother has a lot to talk to him about, when they meet again.
Ezekiel went on to continue his studies at Southeastern Louisiana University. After only one year of college, Ezekiel felt he was destined for greater things. Although he still could not, keep track of silverware, wash his own clothes or dishes, or even read his own handwriting, he headed out to Oklahoma and then Texas. He'd felt he'd found his niche in sales. He excelled in this path by implementing the same techniques he had used on his family throughout his life to be granted his every wish. Texas also gave him the opportunity and freedom to explore the southwest, try new things and experience all life has to offer as a young adult.
Outside of school and work, Ezekiel had a handful of hobbies. He pursued football for many years. He enjoyed many trips down the Pearl with his uncle Ethan. They loved hunting, fishing, and camping together. EZ loved golf. He was first introduced to the game, by his uncle, at just 3 years old. Quickly mastering the whiff, he went on to decline 3 invitations to the PGA Tour. He opted instead, to share his talent with those less fortunate, the skillfully challenged group of guys he endearingly called, his children. He also liked working out and He liked PlayStation even better. He spent over 10 years gaming with a special group of friends from Maryland. He was eagerly awaiting a trip to meet them in the coming months.
Although Ezekiel set out for new adventures later in life, he'll be remembered for his famous rap verse: Hey everybody my name is Zeke, and all of the girlies think I'm unique. Most memorably, he'll be remembered for his sweet soft nature, the respect he gave others, his desire to do right by everyone, defend those who couldn't find their voice, his loyalty, wisdom, eagerness to learn and please others, his ability to exude confidence while remaining humble, his desire to see everyone around him succeeded, his funny personality, and his ability to have the right answer for everything. Most importantly, for the love his family was built on.
Ezekiel 36:26 explains, what God did for us by bringing EZ into our lives. Ezekiel 34:16 explains, the life he strived to lead and the legacy he leaves behind.
He is survived by his mother, Ashley Chauffe; his brother, Nico Dardar; his stepfather, Jonathan Dardar; his Honey (grandmother) Stephanie Ballay; his uncle whom he considered his father, Ethan Chauffe (Mandie); his aunt, Arianna Ballay; and his cousins, Abram and Ace Chauffe whom he saw as his brothers, Luke, whom he had yet to meet; and a special family friend, Raymond Rickrode Drain Surgeon, because, if you knew Ezekiel, you knew he needed a plumber.
Ezekiel was preceded in death by his grandfather, Wayne Chauffe.
