He is survived by: his mother Bernice Alexander; his wife Patricia Purvis; his son Cody Alexander; his sister Phyllis Mayhugh; his nephew Mick O'Brian; his nieces, Kelly Riser and Kim McKastle; and his former wife Kaye Alexander.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lipan Cowboy Church (205 W Lipan Dr, Lipan, TX 76462). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

All services will take place at Lipan Cowboy Church, located at 205 W Lipan Dr, Lipan, TX 76462. (There will be a service in Jonesboro, LA at a later date.) In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lipan Cowboy Church (PO Box 21 Lipan, Tx 76462) in Gerald's memory.
