Terry's journey through life was guided by his deep love and devotion to his family. He shared 47 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Bonnie Krznarich, who stood by his side as his rock and constant support. Terry often spoke of Bonnie as the smartest woman he knew, and their bond served as a beacon of strength throughout their lives together.
As a father, Terry epitomized selflessness and unconditional love. His children, Jenny Krznarich-Hall and her husband William, Andrew Krznarich and his wife Megan, and Rebecca Rubinstein, were his pride and joy. He rejoiced in their accomplishments and offered unwavering support in their endeavors. Terry's heart overflowed with love for his three granddaughters, Gabrielle, Emmanuelle, and Anabelle, who brought immeasurable joy to his life.
Born on July 6, 1954, in Milwaukee, WI, Terry pursued his education, ultimately earning a BS degree from San Jose State University. His thirst for knowledge and commitment to personal growth laid the foundation for a successful professional career. Terry retired from his role of Project Manager at Austin Energy in 2019, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and exceptional achievements, and a lifetime of friendship.
Terry's journey to adulthood included serving as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force, where he made lifelong memories and enduring friendships. His time in the Air Force gifted him with a wealth of funny stories, whether they involved base antics, off-base adventures, or dealing with officers. Terry's service in the military instilled in him a deep sense of duty, discipline, and camaraderie that would shape his character and influence his interactions with others throughout his life.
Terry's passions and interests were as vibrant as his spirit. He was an avid collector, always on the lookout for hidden treasures. Whether it was stopping the car to pick up literally anything he thought could have value from the side of the road or embarking on camping and hunting adventures, Terry found solace and joy in the great outdoors. His love for exploration knew no bounds.
However, Terry's impact extended far beyond his personal pursuits. He was perpetually vigilant about the safety and well-being of others, even strangers. A natural mentor, Terry touched countless lives and positively influenced those around him. People from all walks of life were grateful for his guidance and support, forever changed by his compassionate nature.
Terry's family remained the center of his universe, and he went to extraordinary lengths to ensure their happiness and security. Together with Bonnie, he purchased 16 acres of land upon retirement, building a home where their dreams could flourish. Terry's tireless efforts to prepare the property reflected his unwavering commitment to his loved ones, providing a space where they could build their own lives.
In addition to Bonnie, Jenny, Andrew, and Rebecca; Terry is survived by his brothers, Frank, Patrick, and James. Their bonds of brotherhood were strong, and they shared many cherished memories throughout their lives.
Terry was gregariously friendly, striking up conversations with strangers and making friends effortlessly. His authenticity and genuine nature were hallmarks of his character. He was a man of honor, driven by strong convictions and an unyielding work ethic. Terry was known for his unshakeable loyalty and refusal to leave anyone behind. He embraced underdogs, offering guidance and support to all who were willing to learn and work hard.
Those fortunate enough to work with Terry held him in high regard, considering him one of the hardest working individuals they had ever encountered. His rational, no-nonsense leadership inspired and uplifted his colleagues, allowing them to reach their full potential. As a coach of youth sports, Terry treated every player fairly, instilling in them a sense of importance and value as members of the team. This commitment extended to every team he led, including his own family.
Terry's impact on the lives of those around him was profound. As a friend, mentor, and leader, he taught invaluable life lessons, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. His brash humor and ability to break tension with a well-timed joke were legendary, leaving smiles on the faces of all who knew him. Even when it wasn't, he would always insist that, "you have to admit, that was funny.".
Music held a special place in Terry's heart, and he enjoyed the tunes of the Rolling Stones and Creedence Clearwater Revival. He found solace in classic western films and World War II movies, appreciating the stories they told.
Terry's philosophy could probably be summed up with: "Show respect to other people, not as a reflection of their character but as a reflection of yours.". These words encapsulated his unwavering belief in treating others with kindness, respect, and dignity, a value he lived by until the end.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 23rd, 2023, at 4:00 PM at the Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden (202 N Main St, Linden, TX 75563). In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Terry's name to the Wounded Warriors Project, a cause close to his heart.
