He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos Harris and Mellie Luster Harris; his wife Charlie Reece "Charla" Harris; his son Brad Harris; his grandson James Reece Harris; his brother Raymond Harris; and his siblings-in-law, Pat Harris and Neal Birmingham.
He is survived by: his son Bruce Harris (Bernadette) of Linden, Texas; his grandson Brian Quaid (Jeanna) of Sims, Texas; his great grandchild Jacee Quaid of Linden, Texas; his siblings, Joan McCord (Bob) of Atlanta, Texas and James Harris of Linden, Texas; his sister-in-law LaJuan Harris of Nacogdoches, Texas; and his close friend Kenath Hawkins. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Linden United Methodist Church, the Linden Cemetery Association, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
