Ray Lewis Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ray Lewis (Lindale, Texas), who passed away on September 3, 2024 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Ray may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Ray touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bessie Lewis and Raymond Lewis; his sisters, Thelma (Bill Hovey) and Mae (Floyd Johnson); and his son-in-law Monty Angell.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Lewis; his children, Sandra Angell of Terrell and R. D. (Danny); and his daughter-in-law Vicki Lewis of Kerens. He is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 8th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home (206 W South St, Lindale, TX 75771). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 9th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Lindale First Baptist Church (105 E Hubbard St, Lindale, TX 75771).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Lindale First Baptist Church Building fund.
