He was predeceased by: his parents, Celia Rush Wilhite and LeRoy Wilhite; his siblings, Michael Wilhite, Sr. (Jane Bryce Wilhite) and Celia Darnell Price; and his sister-in-law Sandra Callender.
He is survived by: his children, John Travis Harris, Jennifer Wilhite Green and Kanaan L. Wilhite; his grandchildren, Allison Lewis, Mark Travis Harris, James Owen Watkins III, Kanaan S. Wilhite and Madison R. Wilhite; his brother John Wilhite (Debbie Wilhite); his former wife Pamela Heinze Wilhite Hanson; and his extended family, Roger Callender, Richard Callender, Amy Callender McBee, Ann Heinze, Michael Wilhite, Jr., Lee Ann, Andy Mills, Michael Wilhite, Chris Wilhite, Sidney Price, Kim Hale Harris, Cortney C. Wilhite, Wayne McGinnis, Texans and Virgin Islanders. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and loving extended family, inherited family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Stewart Family Funeral Home (7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy, Tyler, TX 75703). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 2:15 PM at the Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038).
