He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Frederick Thoene and Leonora Fredricke Thoene (Luersen); his siblings, Shirley Cox and Robert Thoene; his parents-in-law, Richard and Ruth Urban; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Thoene and Floyd Schneider.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Thoene of Lincoln; his daughters, Tammie Shugart (Tom) of Giddings, Thresa Ford (Bill) of Manor and Traci Thoene of Lincoln; his brothers, Albert Thoene (Alice) of Austin, Charles Thoene (Marilyn) of Georgetown, Roy Thoene of Tyler and Clayton Thoene (Patty) of Del Valle; and his siblings-in-law, Claude Cox of San Antonio and Gladys Schneider of Lincoln. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Ebenezer Lutheran Church General Fund, the Ebenezer Lutheran Parish Hall Renovation Fund, or to the charity of one's choice.
