He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernice Abshire and Veneda Le Beouf Abshire; and his son Rodney Joseph Abshire, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Abshire; his children, Sonya Michelle Kerr (Terry) and Jason Paul Abshire (Toni); his grandchildren, Ashley Wallace, Amanda Wren (Mark), Halston Abshire and Blake Abshire; his great grandchildren, Emma Wallace and Hayden Wren; and his nephews, Duane Abshire (Anna) and Robert Abshire (Tammy). He is also survived by other loving family members, friends.
