He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Brooks Sr. and Ellen Cook Brooks; his brothers, Robert Sr., Billy Ray, Theodore and Earnest Jr.; his niece Tamika Brooks-Carter; his sister-in-law Sharon; and his parents-in-law, Lenard and Mae Etta Hebert.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Sue Hebert Brooks "Sue Sue"; his children, Sue Etta (Terry), Harold Jr. (Jonna), Gerald Sr. (Tanisha), Ellen and William (Chastity); his siblings, Mary, Morris Sr., Leroy Sr. (Faye) and Larry (Audrey); his grandchildren, Cambranika, Isaiah, Tyrell, Brittani, Sheharakei, Keiharabre, Lil Harold, Jacolby, Angel, Kiyanna, Brent, Mercy, Ar'Neisha, Gerald Jr., Tyres, Taylor, Brianna, Kendra, Kaliah, Noah, Nessiah, Sean, Traevon, Micah, Austin and Grace; and his great grandchildren, Stephleon 3rd, Keion, Stetsyn, Aaryn, Kayson, Amir, Alayiah, Micah, Naylah and Nazareth.
