She was predeceased by: her parents, William Norman and Evelyn Young Norman; her husband Carl Leroy Pettay, Sr.; her son Randal Wayne Pettay; and her half-sister Wilismae Grady.
She is survived by: her children, Cheryl Ann Johnson (Johnny) and Carl Leroy Pettay, Jr. (Betty); and her sister Mayme Katherine Schoonover (Laverne). She is also survived by ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
