He was predeceased by: his parents, William Arthur Cox and Mittie Florence Tucker Cox; his wife Eva Joe; his son Roger Cox; his daughter-in-law Valerie Doan; his grandchildren, Anthony Dale Cox, Lewis Wayne Cox and Paige Joann Cox; and his siblings, Wilma Luker, Dorothy Jean Rhoton, William "Bigon" Cox, James "Littleon" Cox and Kelton "Ted" Cox.
He is survived by: his sons, Vernon Cox (Cindi Feger Cox) of Groveland, IL, Warren Cox (Suzann Essman Cox) and Phillip Cox (Jeanette Fallon Cox) of Highland Village, TX; his sister Georgia Meeks of Portsmouth, VA; and his grandchildren, Elby Joe Cox, Erich Thompson, Vanessa Matthews, Spencer Cox, Monica Cox, Chase Cox, Darren Cox, Kyle Cox, Nolan Cox, Austin Cox, Mason Cox, Cory Parker, Courtney Allen, Amber Hook Caldwell and Haley Hook. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Shackelford Funeral Directors - Selmer (160 Cypress Ave, Selmer, TN 38375). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at the Eureka Cemetery (2825 Vernie Kirk Rd, Pocahontas, TN 38061).
