He was predeceased by: his parents, William Taggart and Kathryn "Katie" Morris Taggart; and his brothers, William and Norman. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Ross Chesney; his children, Peter (Katy McGinn Taggart) of Flower Mound and Deirdre of Houston; his grandsons, Cameron (Kristi) of Allen and Connor (Dylan Hefner) of Lewisville; his great grandchildren, Nora and Ian of Allen; and his sister Lottie Reid of Rutherglen. He is also survived by her family, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Morris' name to The Beacon, one the church's outreach ministries, the mission of which is to provide essential and next-step services to restore hope and help end homelessness in Houston.
