He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Stephen and Ruth Ivey of Virginia; his former wife Doylene Ivey; and his siblings, Cleon Ivey, Talmage Ivey, Percy Ivey, T. J. Ivey, Bervel Ivey, Joe Ivey and Joyce Ann Schoggins.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Ivey; and his children, Willie Don Ivey, Shauna Sisson, Dawnette Snell, Susan White and Terri White. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
