Thea (Gunther) Collins Obituary
She was born May 14, 1946, in Esslingen, Germany to Christoph and Gertrude Gunther. Thea met her ex-husband and father of her children, Darrel Collins, in Germany and moved to the United States in 1966. She was a homemaker, nurse’s aide, cook, and hotel clerk while raising her children in Adrian, Texas.
Thea met her long-time partner, Eulogio “Coco” Castillo after divorcing in the late 1980s and moved to Levelland shortly thereafter. She and Coco owned a trucking company and traveled throughout the United States and Canada for over 25 years before retiring. Thea enjoyed doing needlecrafts such as embroidery, knitting, crochet and was a talented seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Christoph and Gertrude Gunther; and son, Bryan Collins.
Thea is survived by her partner, Eulogio “Coco” Castillo; son, Steven Collins; daughters, Christine Collins and MaryLee Castillo; and granddaughter, Madie Castillo.
