He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Acuff and Edna Mae Acuff; and his parents-in-law, Frank, Thelma Hammontree, Royce and Dad Hammontree.

He is survived by: his wife Frances; his children, Dr. Gary Acuff (Awilda) of College Station and Pam Wilson (Roger) of Hurst; his grandchildren, Paul Wilson (Deb) of Denton, Thomas Wilson of Brooklin, NY, Laura Tolentino (Paolo) of Colorado Springs, CO and Jennifer Acuff (Justin Fleer) of Blacksburg, VA.; and his great grandchildren, Nicolas Mills, Ben Wilson and Dante Tolentino.
