He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Smith, Sr. and Juanita Rangel Smith; his daughter Lorie Ann Smith; and his brothers, Glenn Smith, Sr., Troy Smith, Sr. and Raddison Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Esther Smith; his children, Robert Smith III (Ruby), Nancy Ancira (Jerry) and Carol Smith; and his siblings, Gene Smith, Fred Smith, Jimmy Ray Smith and Janie Collings. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
