He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Edwin Burns Sr. and Lila Belle Warren Burns. He is survived by: his significant other Kaylene Fields Burns; his children, Amanda (Aaron Manuel) of Blanchard, OK, Karolyn (Justin Brown) of Floydada, TX and Robert Andrew (Rachel Burns) of Benton, AR; his adoptive son Cole (Katie Flikemma); and his grandchildren, Annalise, Adam Manuel, Sophia, Malcolm, Simon Brown, Maggie, Robbie, Eleanor Burns and Warren Flikkema. He is also survived by numerous other siblings, nieces and nephews.
