He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Brooks and Lujuana Sue Brooks (Brown); his grandparents, Murrell, Marie Brown, James and Dean Brooks; his sister Cobie Renae Brooks; and his pets, Elvis and Roadie.

He is survived by: his wife Melanie; his children, Dustin Brooks (Haley), Dallas Pena (Katie), Ashley Vinyard (Nathan) and Amber Wisdom (Chay); his grandchildren, Claire, Caroline, Emma, Silas, Austin, Nora, Tatum and Stormi; his father-in-law Marvin McCaul; and his grandfather-in-law Peggy Bingham. He is also survived by two sisters, four brothers, numerous nephews and nieces, beloved chosen brothers and sisters, and his bestie.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Krestridge Funeral Home (505 Austin St, Levelland, TX 79336). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the South Plains College (1401 College Ave, Levelland, TX 79336).

In lieu flowers, the family suggest that donations be made in Joe Dee's honor to the charity of your choice or to one of the following: South Plains College Foundation; High Point Village; Sam Thompson Memorial Foundation.
