He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Earl "Pete" and Edna Abney; his wife Barbara; his sister Mary; and his son-in-law Jim Cogdell.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Cogdell and Steven Kuhler; his granddaughters, Lisa (Blake Massey), Brittany Cogdell and Katelyn Cogdell; his great grandchildren, Rance, Joshua, Brynley, Kyler and Kayson; and his siblings, Walter Abney, Dan Abney, Terry Abney, Pat Williams and Carol Pruitt. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
