With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Doris Helfer of Lefors, Texas, born in Amarillo, Texas, who passed away on March 12, 2021 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ross Lovelady and Lucille Lovelady; her husband Jim Helfer; her children, Shawn Heckathorn and Shannon Johnson; and her grandson Andrew Laury.
She is survived by: her children, Michelle Irwin (Casey) of Amarillo, Mecca McBee (Daron) of Lefors and Shane Johnson (Anna) of Van Vleck; and her siblings, Vickie Harris of Amarillo, Lisa Davis of Aubrey and Larry Ashby (Jodi) of Pflugerville. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
