He is survived by: his wife Frances Nelson; his children, Troy Nelson (Kay), Subreana Bach, Stacey Cooley (Daryll) and Trevor Nelson (Naoko); his grandchildren, Jamie Willis (Bubba), Chase Cooley (Tyle), Kellie Nelson, Dustin Curry (Megan), Maddie Cooley, Ryan Stegall, Desiree Brewer (Jordan), D. J. Curry, Micki Nelson, Kai Nelson, Yako Hirano, Tak Nelson and Mei Nelson; and his great grandchildren, Kenzie, Bryce, Juliana, Aiden, Sadie, Elijah, Stella, Knox, Caleb, Crew and Sloan.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Building Fund for Piney Grove Baptist Church in Leesburg, Texas.
