He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kovar and Lydia Kovar; his wife Mary "Sue" Kovar; and his siblings, Bernice Taylor, Robert "Bob" Kovar and Walter "Buster" Kovar.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Kovar (Linda) of Ledbetter, Renee Kovar of Crystal Beach and Marissa Brooks (Damion) of College Station; his grandchildren, Brock Kovar (Melanie) of Bastrop, Chad Kovar of Austin, Christopher Kovar (Brooke) of Giddings, Bridget Kovar, David Bradshaw of Pflugerville, Melissa Reed (Jammie) of Ft. Worth, P. J, Blake Naylor of Brenham, Bradley Naylor of Brenham, Justin Thomas "J. T." Naylor (Heidi) of Brenham and Ava Willrich of College Station; and his siblings, David Kovar (Betty) of Giddings, Johnny Kovar, Leanne Diab of Rockdale, Billie Marie Brinkman (Buddy) of Caldwell, Patsy Bollier of Humble, Polly Corbett of Rogers and Alice Price of Wortham. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
