He was predeceased by: his parents, E. E. Erickson (Bill) and Mary Erickson (Britain); and his brother Tommy Joe Erickson (T. J.). He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jeanne Erickson; his sons, W. R. Erickson Jr. (Debbie) and Brian Edward Erickson (Jamie); his grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy, Jonathan and Rebekah; his great grandchild Bradley Eugene Erickson (Michele); and also Kayla.
Bill was born on January 20th, 1940, in Dallas, Texas and grew up in Irving, the grandson of Lee Britain, the Britain's being one of the founding families of Irving who donated the land on which old downtown Irving is now located.
