He was predeceased by: his parents, Opal Butcher and Freeman Butcher; his son Dennis; and his sisters, Doris, Paula and Donna.

He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann; and his children, Susan and Jeffery. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; as well as 5 siblings.
